Ibstock Telling GRC Limited was formed after a catastrophic fire caused the demise of Telling Architectural Limited, who had been one of the leading manufacturers of GRC. The company operates within the Ibstock Futures division of Ibstock plc which is committed to the expansion and development of sustainable and modern methods of construction. (MMC)

The company will take forward the unique and innovative process of casting real brick facings in to the lightweight GRC as well as custom designed GRC elements for architecture and engineering.

Ibstock Telling GRC will be expanding the automation of the manufacturing process retaining the ‘best in class’ quality for which Telling Architectural had a reputation.

Whilst GRC is bespoke for each project, parametric design and engineering processes are being developed to harmonise their systems in performance, economy and sustainability.

Established in the UK nearly 200 years ago and leaders in sustainable brick and concrete products , Ibstock plc have an enviable record for health and safety and environmental standards as well as a commitment to net zero carbon by 2040.

GRC elements are made to order for the individual project. Rebuilding of a design and engineering department is underway to take the ‘Norskreen’ range of UK manufactured Grade 18P GRC systems to new heights of technical excellence.

Ibstock Telling GRC have BRE certified EPD’s for both their plain and brick faced GRC along with Exova fire classification tests. Grade 18P GRC has been assessed as having a 100 year life expectancy with negligible maintenance and a low carbon footprint in manufacturing and delivery.

These assets added to the contribution that lightweight façades can make towards the design of more efficient reduced CO2 emission structures/ foundations are creating a compelling case for GRC in modern methods of construction.

Differing patterns, textures, colours, shapes and geometry are created with 3D modelling alongside proven engineering programmes to optimise the flexural and tensile properties of Grade 18P concrete.

Large format elements with cast in ‘strongback’ hot dipped galvanised backing support are enabling panels up to 6.0 metre x 3.0 metres to be manufactured.
